Flippa Ball is coming back to West Auckland!
We’re stoked to announce that after an extended hiatus, Flippa Ball is retuning to West Auckland! A modified version of water polo, Flippa Ball is aimed at primary school aged children in years 3-6 and is played in a shallow pool, allowing players to stand up as well as swim.
Finding a suitable and available pool has been a challenge for getting Flippa Ball underway, but fortunately we have secured space for this term at our home pool of West Wave on Sunday mornings. The 25m scoreboard end pool will host the sessions, with the pool floor raised to 0.8m.
Term 4 of this year will see several ‘have a go’ days, where players can come along for free, give the sport a go and have some fun. The proper league will begin in Term 1 2019, with entries open to West Auckland primary schools.
Have a go days will be run on the following Sundays, from 10:00AM – 1:00PM (two 1.5hr sessions):

A huge thanks must go to Margaret Chase & Deb Cameron for their hard work in getting this under way, as well as Leonie Phillips and New Zealand Water Polo for their assistance.
