Adam Milne Takes on New Coaching Development Role
The Waitakere Water Polo Committee is pleased to announce that Adam Milne, Blue Devil and coach of the 2019 Under 18 Mens and Under 16 Boys teams, is taking on a new role as Development Coach for our Junior Program (Under 12s – Under 16s), to begin this month.
This role will see Adam working alongside our Head Coach Davor Carevic to up-skill our trainee and junior coaches, proving feedback at both trainings and games, and assisting with the running of clinics and workshops to aid their professional development. Adam is an experienced player, having competed for Waitakere in age group sides from Under 14s to Seniors. In 2017, he was selected to compete in the FINA Junior (Under 20) World Water Polo Championships in Belgrade, Serbia. As a coach, Adam has been involved in our Under 14 Boys program for several seasons, and is now looking after Under 16 and Under 18 teams, on top of being a qualified referee. Outside of water polo, he has a background in competitive swimming and currently coaches at Roskill Swim Club.
The introduction of a comprehensive coaching pathway is a key priority for the Waitakere Water Polo Committee in 2019, and we look forward to seeing the impact that this will have on our programs. We are currently working with Sport Waitakere to identify new opportunities to better support and assist our coaches in running their programs. If you have any suggestions or feedback on coaching at Waitakere Water Polo, please get in touch with our Club Captain, Andrew McKenzie: firstname.lastname@example.org.
