Under 18 Nationals

Well done to our two Under 18 teams who competing in the National Under 18 Championships over the last four days.

Both are young teams, fielding several Under 16 players, for whom competing in the Under 18 competition provides valuable experience.

Atlantis and Canterbury proved too strong for our Women, however they proved themselves against bronze medal wining Hibiscus Coast, staying competitive right until the last quarter and only going down by four goals. From there a strong win over Otago, 13-4 and a close victory over North Harbour Black saw the girls finish fourth in Pool B. An unfortunate loss to Mountfort Park 2-3 saw them playing off for 7th and 8th, in which Tauranga claimed the victory.

Our Men finished 5th in their pool, beating Marist Blue and losing a competitive game to Otago. The boys rallied well against Manawatu, however it wasn’t quite enough, going down 9-11. One final game against North Harbour led to a 12th final placing.

Well done to all of our players, and thanks to our coaches and managers for all their hard work!
