Waitakere started strongly and opened up a four goal lead at one point, then held the lead into the final period. North Harbour finished the strongest in a dramatic last quarter, only taking the lead in the final minutes. This was a fantastic match to finish the 2018 National League season, with the victory to Cootes Construction North Harbour, 10-9 over Waitakere.

When I reflect on the past year, I am struck by how many of us give up our time each week to be here and be part, knowing that there are so many other things happening in people’s lives, it is so powerful the contribution and opportunity this creates for our members.
The ongoing success of Waitak is up to each member to foster and grow the Club. As a committee, we aim to provide an environment where Club members can “develop and grow in to well-rounded athletes, through encouragement, knowledge, ability and fun.”

Well done to all the Waitakere Water Polo players who have been competing in the FINA World League Intercontinental Cup held right here in Auckland, New Zealand. A total of 10 Waitak players donned the fern for the competition, which fielded nine international sides including Olympic powerhouses USA and Australia.
