Congratulations to Waitakere Water Polo players Chantelle Conroy, Emmerson Houghton and Grace Tobin who have been selected to compete in the 17th FINA Womens World Cup to be held later this year in Surgut, Russia. The three women have been instrumental in recent successes for our Waitak womens' sides, including a recent Bronze at the Pan Pacific Youth Water Polo Festival and Gold at National League in 2017.Read More
Waitakere started strongly and opened up a four goal lead at one point, then held the lead into the final period. North Harbour finished the strongest in a dramatic last quarter, only taking the lead in the final minutes. This was a fantastic match to finish the 2018 National League season, with the victory to Cootes Construction North Harbour, 10-9 over Waitakere.Read More
The Waitakere Blue Diamonds have won their first national women’s title since 1993, and their first-ever NZWPNL win, 8-7 over double defending champs Marist Magic. The Blue Diamonds dug deep in the third quarter, that started with a six-on-five goal to young gun Libby Alsemgeest in the middle after a pass in from Emmerson Houghton. They’d eventually score another three goals (Emmerson Houghton 2, Zuniga) to Magic’s two (Nicole Lewis, Tate Renata) to take the score to 6-6 heading into the last quarter.Read More
