Under 14 Overview

Registration Costs: $450.00 per player
Swimming Training fees: $50 Term 3

U14 Auckland League
We participate in the Auckland League, run by Auckland Water Polo Association. The Club enters teams based on the number of players. In 2018 both Auckland League and Nationals will be held in Term 4. Players start to train/trial in Term 1 and 2 starting with two sessions per week. In Term 3 and 4 players can train 2 or 3 times per week, depending on which team they are in. Under 14 games start in October and trainings will vary from term to term. Games can be on a Friday night, or Saturday or Sunday at any of the 7 Water Polo Pools in Auckland:

  • West Wave (our home ground)

  • Sacred Heart Aquatic Centre (Home of Marist)

  • MISH (Home of North Harbour)

  • National Aquatic Centre (Neutral Ground)

  • Manurewa Aquatic Centre (Home of Mountfort Park)

  • Diocesan Aquatic Centre (Neutral Ground)

  • St Cuthberts Aquatic Centre (Neutral ground)

Please note that there is no additional cost for any increased trainings - registration fees are set for each grade irrespective of the number of trainings. Players/teams training twice per week are generally younger, less experienced players who are focused on skills, tactics and game development. These players are by no means disadvantaged by training twice per week – in fact we find that too much training can discourage these players, so we try to maintain a healthy balance. Players must be registered in order to train (do so here).

National Championships
Nationals are run by New Zealand Water Polo and is separate from the Auckland league.  Teams are trialled again for Nationals based on players interested in attending. The number of teams going to Nationals is dependant on the number of players able and willing to go. There is an additional entry fee for associated costs with this (entry fee, travel and accommodation etc).

If you have any questions, please email Tracey or Alene.
