Under 18 Overview
The official season for U18’s is terms 1 and 2.
Term 1 is used as the main preparation term for the teams before weekly games start in term 2 for the Auckland League.
If you wish to play for an U18 team, term 1 and 2 in season age group training is compulsory.
Foundational training options are available in term 3 (if enough interest), and term 4.
It is open to club members only. You must have paid the club annual membership fee before being eligible to play.
If there are more players than one team allows players will trial for teams.
There are girls and boys grades.
Division 1 and Division 2 Nationals Tournament are in July each year.
Registration Costs: $590
Training, registration and fees
Club annual membership fee (compulsory):
Provides membership of WWPC. $100 per annum, charged with age group registration.

Season age group training (compulsory):
Runs over two terms - terms 1 and 2.
Term 1 has a focus on preparing for your playing season which is term 2.
Term 2 involves training sessions and a weekly game in the Auckland league.
Players should expect to train at least two to three times a week.
$150 term 1 and $250 term 2.You have the option of paying fully at the time of registration, or to lessen the financial burden you can opt to split the payments across the two terms the training takes place. You only need to register once for the season, via our website, using our Friendly Manager platform. At the time of registration you will be charged the membership fee and first term payment. You will then be invoiced automatically in the last week of the term before for the following term.
The initial payment via the website can be paid by credit card or bank transfer if you wish to avoid the card fees. Following invoices need to be paid by bank transfer into the WWPC bank account.
While the ‘Season’ training is deemed ‘compulsory’, we understand that some players have other commitments. Please discuss availability with your coordinator or coach if you have any concerns.

When an age group is not in season, we offer foundational water polo training for preparation, skill development for those who are available.
While attendance is not ‘compulsory’ in the same way as ‘season’ training, it is highly recommended. It is your time to develop skills and techniques and build your fitness levels for the upcoming playing season.

Swim Squad training (optional but highly recommended):
$110 per term per session.
These are available all four terms of the year, and are swim squad sessions tailored for water polo fitness for members only.
Swim squad is not compulsory but highly recommended to build fitness.
Swim squad training fees are additional to any other club fees and you can choose to register for 1, 2 or 3 sessions per week, currently run on Monday, Tuesday and Thursdays.
If you sign up and pay for the Tuesday session, then you can attend only on a Tuesday each week. If you sign up and pay for Tuesday and Thursday, then you can attend both nights each week.Register using the ‘Registration Term-Based Training’ button here.
Additional programmes (optional):
These include Carevic Cup and any additional training workshops that may be offered from time to time.
Tournaments (optional):
All age groups have optional tournaments they can attend including for U14 and above the National Water Polo Competition. Can be held within Auckland or outside in main centres across New Zealand.
Tournaments cost additional fees and cover tournament entry fee, coaching costs, travel and accommodation, depending on where they are based.
They can range between $300 and $1000 depending on where the tournament is held.We will ask for Expression of Interests (EOI)’s for each tournament. Deposits will be required.
After the deposit is paid, the remaining fees will be invoiced in 1 installment for Auckland tournaments and 2-3 installments for out of Auckland tournaments, and need to be paid by bank transfer. Final instalments will be due at least 3 weeks prior to the tournament.
All invoices state due dates, and are generally 14 days after the invoice issue date.

U18 Auckland League
We participate in the Auckland Under 18 League. Games can be at any of the 7 water polo pools in Auckland:
West Wave (our home ground)
Sacred Heart Aquatic Centre (Home of Marist)
MISH (Home of North Harbour)
National Aquatic Centre (Neutral Ground)
Manurewa Aquatic Centre (Home of Mountfort Park)
Diocesan Aquatic Centre (Neutral Ground)
St Cuthbert’s Aquatic Centre (Neutral ground)
National Championships
Nationals are run by New Zealand Water Polo and is separate from the Auckland League. Teams may be re-trialed for Nationals based on players interested in attending. The number of teams going to Nationals is dependent on the number of players able and willing to go.
There is an additional entry fee for associated costs with this (entry fee, travel and accommodation etc).
